Spoon’s Britt Daniel Has Another New Band

Spoon vocalist Britt Daniel has revealed he’s got another new band.

Spl:t S:ngle (pictured) stars the singer alongside Jon Wurster (Superchunk/Mountain Goats) and Jason Narducy (Telekinesis/Verbow), who also acts as main songwriter for the trio.

He told Exclaim.ca they’d be making a record in an interview earlier this week - with Narducy confirming to CoS they’d recorded thirteen songs last month.

Daniel is currently busy with his Divine Fits, who release debut album, ‘A Thing Called The Divine Fits’ via Merge at the end of this month.

He also made assurances that Spoon aren’t done with just yet, explaining ‘I do have some Spoon songs that are in the works’, and asked the other three ‘to come up with some stuff for me to sing on top of. I just sort of suggested it - I don’t know if they’ll do it. I’ve also come up with a few things. But I’ll finish up with this, and we’ll get back together again.’
