Suzi Wu embraces imperfection on new track ‘Taken Care Of’

After bursting forth with the spellbinding ‘Teenage Witch’ a few weeks ago, London newcomer Suzi Wu is back with a brand new taste of her upcoming EP, due on 8th September via Lucky Number.

‘Taken Care Of’ sees Suzi singing over glacial, bottle-like melodies and snapping beats, once again foreshadowed by a short spoken word section: “She asked me who’s taking care of me/ I said: I take care of me”. It’s a narrative about realising that you can’t always be perfect, but that there’s something empowering in just realising that.

Speaking of the track, Suzi explains: “’Taken Care Of’ is about the things that made and broke me as a child, and finding power in my inability to be perfect. I wrote it for teens and children who are lost and who lead double lives”.
