T in the Park organisers assure ticket-buyers that 2015 fest will take place
New Strathallan Castle location is putting a protected species - ospreys - under threat.

T in the Park’s organisers have issued a statement assuring ticket-buyers that the 2015 event will take place, despite complications with its new location.
2015 is set to be the first year where T in the Park takes place at Strathallan Castle. However, this location is the old home of a protected species, ospreys. Organisers and RSPB Scotland had been working together to relocate the species, but it appears to have taken up another active residency in its established site.
By law, ospreys cannot be disturbed while nesting. DF Concerts is continuing its efforts to relocate the birds to a specially-constructed, new nest. Police had been called to the new site after pressure group Strathallan T Action Group passed on a video, showing ospreys inhabiting their old home.
“We can confirm that ospreys have returned to Strathallan, but the expert opinion of our ornithologist is that they have not yet nested. The RSPB believes that the previous nest is active and as such, close monitoring via the cherry picker has been removed and we will continue to liaise with the relevant organisations to ensure the protection of the birds,” a DF Concerts spokesperson said.
They added: “In the meantime, we’d also like to assure fans that the festival will go ahead. The decision on our planning application will still be made in May and we remain confident that the event will take place at Strathallan.”
Tickets have already been sold for T in the Park, which is due to take place on 10th-12 July, headlined by The Libertines, Kasabian and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
