The Association of Independent Music Announces 2014 AIM Awards
Awards celebrating the best in independent music take place on 2nd September.
The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has announced the initial details of its 2014 Awards, taking place on 2nd September.
Last year, awards were handed out to the likes of The xx, Vampire Weekend and Frankie and the Heartstrings.
DIY’s once again involved in the Golden Welly Award for Best Festival. Last year’s winner was LeeFest.
XFM’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine will be presenting the ceremony on the night.
Alison Wenham, chairman of AIM, says: ‘“After the success of so many independent artists in 2013, we are looking forward to another year when the independents triumph. The AIM Awards is the only music show to give British artists a stage uncluttered by American acts, and to shine a spotlight on the truly brilliant British independent record industry.’
Tickets for the awards are on sale at musicindie.com/awards.
