The Cribs: Recording With Albini Was ‘Rewarding’

The Cribs have talked about recording with legendary producer Steve Albini.

Working on the follow up to their most recent long player ‘Ignore the Ignorant’, Ryan Jarman spoke to Rolling Stone about working with the Shellac frontman.

‘Recording in Chicago with Steve was a swift, no-messing-about affair,’ Jarman explained. ‘Very rewarding’.

‘I usually hate recording vocals so much. I am very self-conscious, but it was actually really fun here. Most of the stuff - both tracking and vocals - were done in one or two takes, which suits me down to the ground’.
