The Shins get creepy with new teaser

Watch the band preview a film titled ‘I Gleek on Your Grave’, hinting at new single ‘Dead Alive’.

The Shins are either really, really excited about Halloween this year, or they’re about to release new music.

James Mercer and co. have shared a new 40-second teaser video, filled with creepy animations perfectly suited for the night of the living dead. Alongside a pantomime horror flick narrator, it features clips of Mercer falling asleep on the sofa (“when daydreams turn into nightmares”) and shots of cars being stamped on by a giant Vans-wearing monster. Give it a close listen and there’s the fragmented sound of a potential new Shins track.

A new release is due out in early 2017. It’s set to include a track called ‘Dead Alive’. And funnily enough, the below video (titled ‘I Gleek On Your Grave’) is a ‘DEAD ALIVE PRODUCTION.’ 2+2 = NEW SHINS SONG COMING SOON.

Last month, the band debuted new material from an upcoming fifth album during festival slots and a show at London’s Village Underground. A new full-length is due in early 2017.
