The Shins Launch Interactive Website To Celebrate New Album

The Shins’ new album ‘Port of Morrow’ is out now.

The Shins have launched a brand new interactive website that allows fans to hear music from the band’s back catalogue, watch exclusive video content and listen to their brand new album ‘Port of Morrow’, in its entirety.

The website, Journey To The Port of Morrow, was designed by Bristol-based agency Pretty Good for Columbia Records, and also gives fans an opportunity to win a guitar signed by the frontman James Mercer.

DIY also spoke to Sean, from Pretty Good, who gave us this extra insight into what it was like creating the website: ‘It was was nice to work with a band that had clear idea of how to gauge their fan-base, to have the confidence to let the fans explore the content at their own pace and chose the amount they wanted to interact. The technology, which is inherently quite complicated, never seems to interfere with the Journey and the overall process has an understated charm which that will hopefully appeal to fans of The Shins. We very much enjoyed working on this project and hopefully it shows…’
