The xx cut loose in new ‘On Hold’ video

The xx have shared the video for their Hall & Oates-sampling dance banger ‘On Hold’. Directed by Alasdair McLellan, it’s filmed in Marfa, Texas - where the band wrote and recorded a fair portion of their new album ‘I See You’.

Among other things, we learn that Jamie xx’s preferred mode of transport is a shopping trolley, Romy really likes milkshakes, and Oliver actually looks quite good in a cowboy hat. The xx as a whole are also really good at skateboarding. For no particular reason, the ‘On Hold’ video also features nude push-ups, lots and lots of snogging, and a house party.

The xx recently smashed all of the records, selling out a jaw-dropping seven nights at London’s Brixton Academy. They may as well just move in there, tbh. Their new album ‘I See You’ is out on January 13th.
