Watch These New Puritans share ‘Beyond Black Suns’ video
The Barnett brothers have also announced a special one-off show at the Barbican.
After the release of their fourth record ‘Inside The Rose’ back in March, These New Puritans have shared the mesmerising new video for ‘Beyond Black Suns’. With neon pink rooms and a pyramid of flowers, the visuals were directed by acclaimed photographer and film-maker Angelo Pennetta.
“His approach is no bullshit, no pretence, just direct beautiful imagery,” says George of working with Angelo. “He has such conviction. We worked with a great line-up. The sets were extraordinary. Jabez Bartlett made a one-third-size dystopian flooding model village, a pink neon room that fills with smoke and a pyramid of flowers. It’s something I had experimented with in our live performance, but it was taken to the next level – it half felt like we were making the next Les Amants du Pont-Neuf. We are all wearing Hedi Slimane’s Celine; it’s nice to be back in his armour for this video.”
Alongside the new visuals, the group have also announced a special one-off show, ‘The Blue Door’, at London’s Barbican for 23 February, where they’ll be performing old favourites as well as some brand new songs.
