Thyla get euphoric on ‘Tell Each Other Lies’
The Brighton bunch’s latest single is today’s Neu Pick.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Thyla.
Earlier in the year, Brighton band Thyla released ‘Pristine Dream’, a track that was all about celebrating the wonky, left-field and against-the-grain individual. Needless to say, it was a heck of a statement. Throughout 2017 they’ve played with everyone from Matt Maltese to Dream Wife, Yonaka to Trudy & the Romance and now, as 2017 draws to a close, they’re seeing their stellar year out with a huge bang.
Their latest single ‘Tell Each Other Lies’ is their new euphoric offering, produced by Macks Faulkron. Filled with intense percussion, sprawling, atmospheric guitar riffs and another powerhouse performance from vocalist Millie Duthie.
Speaking of the track, the band said: “Tell Each Other Lies is about the fear of confrontation; pretending everything’s dandy and skipping through life suppressing how you really feel for the sake of an easy ride. It’s about putting up with your loved one’s worst traits because you love them and you know they’ll never change, and it’s about coming to the realisation you wouldn’t want them to anyway”.
Over the next couple of weeks Thyla will be hitting the road in support of both Femme and The Wytches. Tickets are on sale now.
