Tigercub enter the white void in the video for ‘The Divided States of Us’

The Brighton bunch have also announced a UK tour for October!

A couple of weeks back, Brighton trio Tigercub revealed that they’re planning to release a brand new EP, ‘Evolve or Die’ on 29th September via Alcopop!

At the time, they revealed ‘The Divided States of Us’, which now has a new video. It’s a trippy, stark affair that’s been inspired by the white void prison scene in George Lucas’ film ‘THX 118’ (aka the one he did before ‘Star Wars’). Frontman Jamie Hall explained more about the concept behind the video: I see this video as a fresh slate, like we’re building the band and everything surrounding it up from the ground again. We wanted it to feel like we were playing in a huge expansive digital cave”.

He continued: “It was filmed in HD in Brighton and then I ran it through a distortion app on my iPhone and basically fucked it up so as individuals we were being divided into three parts every time the music gushes and pours. It’s kind of a visual metaphor for the recording process for the EP in a weird way”.

Not only that, but the band have also revealed details of a new UK tour! Hurrah! Taking place in October, they’ll be kicking it off in Southampton before heading to Exeter, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester and Norwich. Tickets are on sale now.
