Vessels plan Best Kept Secret trip: “We’re working on a few new tunes”

The Leeds band play the Holland festival this spring.

Taking place from 19th - 21st June in Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands, Alt-J and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will head up the line up for this year’s Best Kept Secret Festival. The Libertines, Royal Blood, Death Cab For Cutie and The Jesus and Mary Chain will also appear; and so will Leeds five-piece Vessels.

“The line-up is quite varied and excellent,” says Vessels’ drummer Tim Mitchell ahead of the event. “It is always difficult to make promises to see any artist when playing a festival as performing time often clashes with acts you may like to see that day.

“However, ideally I would like to see at least some of Blanck Mass, Kiasmos, Dan Deacon, Death Cab for Cutie, Mew, Evian Christ, Patten, Jonny Greenwood, badbadnotgood and fellow Leeds-residents Hookworms, who I have still never seen play live.”

“This festival has been a very well kept secret from me so far,” he continues. “I have been to a number of gigs and club nights in Holland but never a festival. From what I now know about the location and ethos of BKS, I am very much looking forward to checking it out.”

And what can fans expect from the band’s set? “We are currently working on a few new tunes that we would ideally be in a position to play. The set however is not finalised, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
