Ireland’s Wastefellow shares the vibrant, danceable ‘Fizzy Lifting Drinks’

The new track precedes a short Irish tour.

Irish producer Wastefellow made a solid impression with debut EP ‘Post Human Potential’ last year, which came out via his home country’s buzzy Soft Boy Records.

The youngster has now returned with new song ‘Fizzy Lifting Drinks’, and it’s another delicious statement of intent.

Vibrant and youthful at its heart, the track straddles genres with abandon; the woozy production on his vocals at the track’s outset are reminiscent of a certain Kevin Parker, before disco-fuelled stabs of synth give way to something altogether dirtier and more dangerous. It’s a real rollercoaster.

Speaking about the song, Wastefellow says: “Like all good tunes written for 16 year old noise bands, it’s about the feeling when you awkwardly fancy someone, and it feels like the best thing ever and the worst thing ever at the same time. Back then it was just lyrics and a guitar riff which we never fleshed into a full song.”

Wastefellow is set to head out on the ‘Wastefellow World Tour of Dublin and Cork and Galway’ from tonight, which will see him play shows in….well, yep.
