Watch: Ancient Times Unveil ‘Healer’ Video

Brighton’s Ancient Times were the first band DIY witnessed playing live in 2014. They’ll be hard to top, too. The four-piece took to a Hello 2014 stage as part of Neu’s series of new music get-togethers at The Old Blue Last (the final gig is tomorrow night, 28th January with Relics, Spring King & more).

Led by George Smale, we said ‘what’s riotous and raw on the surface is being played by some clever sods, as it turns out.’ Smale’s vocals hit a comfy spot between Morrissey’s miserable pronunciations and fuzzy, C86-era garage rock. On their video for the sophisticated melodrama of ‘HEALER’, the band take things up a gear, finding solace in grim old darkness.
