Watch Annie Mac interviewing Kendrick Lamar on her Radio 1 show
Lamar discusses his process, playing by his own rules and UK tour dates
Last night (11th June) Kendrick Lamar joined Annie Mac on her Radio 1 show to discuss recent album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’, his home town of Compton, and his position as a role model, among other things. During the chat, Lamar also told Annie Mac that he fully intends to come back to the UK soon for some tour dates.
Dressed in a glorious red polka-dot hoodie, Kendrick Lamar, as always, held nothing back in the interview, discussing death, religion and family. The choice quote from the interview has to be Lamar’s summation of his short time as an icon: “The world only given me three years; it just so happened that throughout those years in my life, I soaked up a lot of game”
Earlier this week Lamar performed ‘King Kunta,’ the single from his latest album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly,’ live for the first time. Watch the single get its live debut here and watch Lamar’s Radio 1 interview below.
