Watch Eagulls play ‘Yellow Eyes’ live at Cardiff #STANDFORSOMETHING gig
The band played Clwb Ifor Bach on the Dr. Martens x DIY tour.
Saturday (11th October) saw the second Dr. Martens #STANDFORSOMETHING Tour 2014 in association with DIY take place, as Eagulls, Mazes and now Welsh Music Prize-nominated Samoans graced the stage of Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff.
Headliners, Leeds-based post-punkers Eagulls were in the midst of their current UK headline tour, and the sold-out crowd were treated to much of the band’s 2014 self-titled debut, including breakthrough track ‘Possessed’, and ‘Yellow Eyes’, which can be watched below. Ahead of the gig, Eagulls frontman George Mitchell said he was relishing the chance to play in front of the intimate crowd.
“This year we have been playing some pretty big stages which is always great, but it’s still the small intimate venues that we love the most as that’s where we first started out. Having the crowd intertwined with the band will always create movement and when there’s movement, there’s energy.”
The Dr. Martens #STANDFORSOMETHING Tour 2014 in association with DIY continues on 25th October, hosting We Are The Ocean and Arcane Roots at The Shipping Forecast in Liverpool.
