Dark subject matter meets up with non-stop hedonism for Scott’s new video.

Watch: Jackson Scott Unveils ‘Sandy’ Video

Those familiar with Jackson Scott’s debut album ‘Melbourne’ will know that it’s more the comedown at the end of the night than the life and soul of the party.

Funny then, that the video for one of the mistier & darker tracks ‘Sandy’ is actually reminiscent of the former, as it features a whole lot of swigging beer from water pistols.

It’s a classic Jackson move; drunken teens float around an eerily-lit house whilst he stumbles from room to room looking for a sense of belonging. This is a video that could well end up reigniting a youthful spark as well as an impromptu house party.

And it’s the total opposite of the song’s subject matter, which deals with the Sandy Hook tragedy. Speaking to NPR, Scott said:

‘I don’t want the song to have any kind of answer to anything. I just want the song to be a question. When you start asking questions about Sandy Hook, or the meaning of it, or why it would happen, I don’t think there is an answer.
