Watch: Kirin J Callinan Unveils ‘Landslide’ Video
Kirin takes the down under” definition of home country Australia to literal new depths.”

Everything’s upside-down in Australia. Whether this has any impact on the country’s musicians being able to make forward-thinking music like that of Kirin J Callinan is a more disputed issue, but Kirin’s starring in a new video which gives a nod to the upside-down rep of his home country.
Hanging from a rope into open water, the image is flipped to give the impression that Kirin’s below the water but completely bone-dry. He has fun with it too, trying to keep a good posture while strumming an acoustic guitar alongside the unconventional ballad that is ‘LANDSLIDE’.
Director Vincenzi Vandella had this to say about the filming:
‘It was actually a rather dangerous idea and more like torture but he was happy to submit himself to that pain and brutality. It’s a beautiful song, but I love how there’s very real suffering and emotion behind his performance in this simple clip. The guy is built pretty tough.’
Kirin J Callinan’s ‘EMBRACISM’ is out now.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
