Leyma shares new single ‘been a minute’

The East London artist has also announced his new project ‘Tomorrow’s Almost Over’.

Following last year’s sophomore EP ‘L O N G D A Y S’, East London’s Leyma has shared a brand new song and announced that he’s got a six-track project on the way.

Unveiling new track ‘been a minute’, it’s the first taste of upcoming new project ‘Tomorrow’s Almost Over’ which is out on 24th July, and is accompanied by an animated video drawn and directed by 18-year-old Maisey Charlton.

“Imagination is one of the most powerful forms of escapism and this new reality has made people find new and creative ways to connect in spite of the isolation,” Maisey says of the vid. “The animation and song together feel somehow positive despite the subject matter – with the video itself perhaps being a form of escapism. I wanted the animation to serve as a way for me to make the surreal world inside my head and so many others real and tangible with the lyric ‘I just want to hold your hand’ simply yet powerfully putting the one thing we are all missing – connection.”
