Watch: Superfood Announce ‘MAM’ EP, Air ‘TV’ Video
Birmingham band embrace ’90s television static and colourful cheerios in their brilliant new video.
Anyone with vaguely harrowing memories of the ’90s probably didn’t experience the good bits. The chunky television sets that seemed such a novelty at the time; teletext updates (page 302 for football results); cheerios with more food colouring than common sense permits.
These are aspects of two decades past that Superfood embrace. They cited The Spice Girls as massive influences in a recent DIY interview and in ‘TV’ - their first really brilliant video to date - they go mad on the ’90s, screaming their love for the past from the rooftops. It’s shouty, it’s colourful and it’s available to watch below.
‘TV’ is taken from the Birmingham band’s debut EP ‘MAM’, which comes out 3rd March through Infectious. Superfood’s next show is at Hackney venue Oslo, on 19th February.
