Watch the first trailer for Amy Winehouse documentary, ‘AMY’
Two-hour film features unseen footage of the star.
The first trailer has emerged for a forthcoming Amy Winehouse documentary, ‘AMY’.
Out 3rd July, the new production will feature exclusive unseen footage, with a narrative told from the late singer’s own words.
Behind the documentary is the same team who made acclaimed film ‘Senna’, a 2010 production depicting the life of racing driver Ayrton Senna. Asif Capadia directs.
Winehouse tragically died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011. ‘AMY’ will cover her musical success and her struggle with addiction.
“A once-in-a-generation talent and a pure jazz artist in the most authentic sense, Amy wrote and sung from the heart using her musical gifts to analyse her own problems. The combination of her raw honesty and supreme talent resulted in some of the most original and adored songs of the modern era,” reads a blurb on ‘AMY’.
Watch the trailer below, where Amy says she doesn’t think she’ll ever be famous, and wouldn’t know how to deal with the pressure.
