Co-headlining a tour is one thing, but The Flaming Lips and Weezer are set to go one better - literally sharing a stage later this month.

The two bands will play Holmdel, New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center on July 28th and New York’s Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on 29th July, both appearing at the same time. Kind of.

Both acts will set up their gear, then rotate playing songs throughout the show; a few Weezer numbers, a couple of Flaming Lips tracks, and so on.

Writing in a press release, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo wants to know if The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne ‘has an extra bubble I can ride in’. It’d be awfully rude if he didn’t.
