Win Butler mashes up Beck and Kanye West

Arcade Fire frontman Win Bulter has shared a mash-up of tracks by Kanye West and Beck, titling his creation ‘Jesus Walks, Loser’. Sharing the track on his ‘dj-windows98’ Soundcloud alias, Butler has put West’s ‘Jesus Walks’ together with Beck’s ‘Loser’ after last week’s infamous Grammys incident.

In the wake of West’s objection to Beck winning the ‘Best Album’ award, Butler samples the rapper’s verses from the single, laying it on top of a looped sample of ‘Loser’’s slide guitar. Snippets of ‘Jesus Walks’ keyboards creep into the hybrid, though Butler leaves it to Beck to see out the track with his slacker anthem chorus. The only surprise here is that a brilliant mash-up like this hasn’t arrived much sooner.
