Beck releases bittersweet ballad ‘Thinking About You’

Four years on from 2019 GRAMMY-winning LP ‘Hyperspace’, Beck has released his first new music today in the form of new slowie ‘Thinking About You’. A standalone single, the meditative ballad was recorded in the same room as 2002 classic LP ‘Sea Change’ and carries on the tradition of the LA musician’s more introverted, acoustic side of his canon. Beck also features on ‘Possession Island’ - the closing track from Gorillaz upcoming album ‘Cracker Island’ (due 24th February). Speaking to DIY about the collaborative process, Gorillaz leader Damon Albarn said, “What’s great about working with collaborators is that it’s a process that never repeats itself, a perpetual experiment if you like. Is there a method? No, not really - just being open to joy.” Beck, meanwhile, will embrace on a full year of touring in the US and Australia, with dates alongside a rotating all-star cast including Phoenix, Weyes Blood, Japanese Breakfast and Willie Nelson.
