Wire to curate DRILL festival in Brighton, with Swans, Savages & more

Four day event in December celebrates the music of Wire, with Courtney Barnett among those getting involved.

Brighton is set to host a four-day, multi-venue festival (DRILL) which aims to celebrate the music and “challenge the preconceptions” of legendary band Wire.

Several acts are getting involved in the festival, some of which will be collaborating with Wire themselves for special one-offs.

Swans are on firmed to perform an extended version of Wire’s ‘Drill’ track, with the curators also arriving with their own ‘Pinkflag Guitar Orchestra’, featuring members of bands confirmed to play the festival.

Among those involved, Savages and Courtney Barnett are the big names, with East India Youth and The Wytches also set to play.

DRILL takes place on 4th-7th December with early bird tickets (£60) available via Resident Music and online from Friday 19th September.
