Wyldest unveil new ‘Cruel Dusk’ single
North London trio were a highlight from last year’s DIY Presents all-dayer.
All the talk around last year’s DIY Presents all-dayer last October centred around Hinds’ (then Deers) show-stealing set, Flyte’s swooning rejoice and JAWS’ coming-of-age, but within the ten-band bill, openers Wyldest left a big impression. Zoe Mead, Holly Mullineaux and Jack Gooderham’s pristine dream-pop stole hearts, and the North London trio have made a big step up with new single ‘Cruel Dusk’.
Refining their initial, sun-bathing tracks into something undeniably huge, ‘Cruel Dusk’ brings together sparkling synths, muted guitar lines and smoke-doused vocals. It all amounts to Wyldest’s finest moment yet, an affirmation of just why they managed to turn so many heads back in October.
Their live run continues on 25th February with a show at Camden’s Lock Tavern - they’ll be joined by Matagot and Molly Wagger.
Self-released, listen to Wyldest’s ‘Cruel Dusk’ below, as premiered on DIY.
