Yak are off on a UK headline tour later this month, and have shared new track ‘Bellyache’ in advance.
A sleazy riff-monster, the track comes complete with a woozy, psychedelic new video. Starting off as a psych-tinged stomp, the track ends up as a huge, grand parade of horns that take the band into a whole new realm.
“I was living out the back of my £205 car, completely broke as I had put all the money we had from the label into the band,” vocalist Oli Burslem says of the new song. “It really felt like the last piece of music we would ever make and that we had to put everything we had into it. That’s where the last lyric “if you’re going for broke just make sure you don’t choke” comes from.”
