Years & Years announce new album ‘Palo Santo’
The new album, out in July, comes complete with a trailer narrated by Judi Dench.
Yesterday, Years & Years announced the tracklisting for their upcoming second album, and now they’ve shared details of the whole thing!
‘Palo Santo’ will come out on 6th July via Polydor, and follows the brilliant ‘Sanctify’ single.
We recently spoke to Olly Alexander about the trio’s comeback, and the bonkers universe of ‘Palo Santo’ itself.
“This whole second album, when I was writing songs, I felt like I needed to actually go to some places that maybe I’d been hesitant to go to before. I think what’s special about music is hearing people’s voices and experiences. I know that this happens to a lot of queer people, and it keeps happening to me, so I’m gonna write a song about it.
“It’s surprising how much hearing that narrative is relatable, no matter what sexuality you are, y’know?” he says. “It is super important to me, to keep doing that. I have a really amazing opportunity in pop music to do that, so, I’m gon’ do it!”
