Years & Years air new video for ‘Desire’ single

London trio Years & Years get embroiled in a curious love tale for their new ‘Desire’ video. Olly Alexander stars in the clip, taking to shots that feature murky studios, typewriters, steamy love sessions, hip-thrusting and geishas.

Their Sing J. Lee-directed video has it all, really. About the concept, he says: “After getting hooked on the track, the boys sent a note through about the meaning of the song, a cyclical conflict of being a slave to desire and the blurring between the lines of lust and love. This in mind, I wanted to create something sensual andsurreal, and it felt right that we should visit a strange world set within an apartment block and fleetingly peer into the lives of characters as they voyeuristically andhungrily fantasise over watching each other, with Olly playing the enigmatic raconteur.”

It arrives one week on from the band’s TV debut on Later… With Jools Holland.
