Years & Years set to get first #1 single with ‘King’

Coverstars of DIY’s Class of… issue, Years & Years’ 2015 is going to plan - they’re on course for their first #1 single with ‘King’.

The Olly Alexander-led trio are currently 32,000 copies ahead of current chart-topper Ellie Goulding, according to midweek figures from The Official Charts Company.

Winners of the BBC Sound Of 2015 poll, they’re currently ahead of Goulding (#2), Marlon Roudette’s ‘When the Beats Drops Out’ (#3) and Rihanna, Kanye and Paul McCartney’s ‘FourFiveSeconds’ (#4).

Other new entries in the Official Singles Chart include Kanye West’s ‘All Day (#21) and Taylor Swift’s ‘Style’ (#19).

In the Official Albums Chart, Noel Gallagher is set to get the top spot with High Flying Birds LP ‘Chasing Yesterday’. Ghostpoet is currently at #36 with his second album, ‘Shedding Skin’.
