Yuck Frontman Daniel Blumberg Departs Band

The three remaining members do, however, plan on recording their second album in New York.

Just when we were beginning to wonder what on earth was going on in the world of Yuck, they break us some rather unfortunate news.

Turns out, frontman Daniel Blumberg has departed the band ‘to focus on other things’ and ‘concentrate on releasing his own music.’

The news broke late last night when the band posted an update on their Facebook page. They also assured fans that they would remain a band - at the moment, a three-piece - and would begin recording their second album shortly. The follow-up to their 2011 eponymous debut will be recorded in New York.

‘What’s up! Lots of new things have been happening in Yuck world. We’re getting ready to go to New York this week to record our 2nd album! Unfortunately, Daniel won’t be joining us as he’s decided to focus on other things. However, new music, new tour dates, and bigger afros will be coming very soon. So get ready. GET. READY.’

A further comment from the band’s Max Bloom reads as: ‘Hey guys, just to clarify, Daniel has left the band to concentrate on releasing his own music. The three of us have written an album we’re all extremely proud of and we’re all very excited about recording it. We hope you’ll stick with us, your support means a lot to us.’

We’ll keep you informed of any updates from both the band and Blumberg.
