Zun Zun Egui unveil ‘African Tree’ video
The Alden Volney-directed clip accompanies their ‘Shackles’ Gift’ cut.
Having recently released their latest record, Zun Zun Egui have now unveiled their new video for ‘African Tree’.
Kicking off with the rather expected image of a twisted tree, the clip soon descends into a transfixing blur of colour, morphing into psychedelic patterns that match the chaotic but eclectic nature of the track itself.
The clip was created by Parisian director Alden Volney, as the band’s Kushal Gaya explains: “The video was made by a film-maker called Alden Volney who is based in Paris. We really liked his idea for the video, which suggested almost rotoscopic techniques combined with 60’s french psychedelic animations which reminded us of ‘Fantastic Planet’ and stuff like that. We feel those visual aspects work really well with African Tree, we see it as a pretty colourful tune.”
The band are also heading out on tour next month. They’re playing the following dates.
