Thought mystery was a long-since lost tactic? Think again. Commandeering the hype train, LA bunch Dessert have got countless knickers in twists of late, all without showing their faces. Well, there’s every possibility they’re the babies in their sole promo materials, but it’s not likely. Sorry to burst that bubble.

Latest track ‘Cookie’ is as sweet as its namesake - whoever this mysterious bunch are, they’re laying out a banquet to rival the queen’s birthday breakfast. The kind of diced-up, choco-chip R’n’B that Bon Iver recently took to the stratosphere, Dessert add ten cups of sugar to proceedings.

Marrying classical instrumentation to blooping electronica and a simple, upbeat mindset, it morphs and mutates throughout. Sitting somewhere between a Transformer and the time-lapse opening of a flower, it’s like handing mother nature a laptop and a copy of Logic - the results are as otherworldly as that ludicrous image might suggest.
