Hooded Fang / Pinkunoizu - Clap / Parabolic Delusions

Both tracks are perfect examples of bright eyed joyfulness.

A carefree and optimistic split seven-inch which should make even the glummest of people grin widely like a Cheshire cat.

First up are Hooded Fang and you better put on those Ray Bans whilst slathering yourself in Factor 80 sun cream. Their jangly brand of sixties garage-punk is so sun kissed, it makes The Drums’ ‘Let’s Go Surfing’ sound like ‘Let’s Go Sleighing’, and it could easily melt the cold heart of the “deranged Icy ho” they sing about. It’s so catchy that The Vaccines are probably bawling their eyes out in jealousy right now.

Then there’s Pinkunoizu whose wackiness, even though they’re not from the Land Of The Rising Sun as the name suggests, is enough to brighten anyone’s day. The Danish four-piece’s serious undertones about how “Like an endless room of American troops, I will come for you,” are otherwise offset by tripped out ‘Aaaaaaah’s which makes the band sound like they’re absolutely off their rockers on happy pills. Then there’s the bouncy keyboard that goes perfect with that YouTube keyboard cat, which is always a positive.

Both tracks are perfect examples of bright eyed joyfulness.
