Skream - Anticipate

A step towards the current chart market with clunking synth, and the obligatory drop.

Although perhaps more commonly known as a third of popular dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man, Skream has been at the forefront of the bass scene for over five years. He’s remixed for so many prolific names, and has even remixed Magnetic Man’s ‘Getting Nowhere’, although it does seem futile to remix your own song. He’s back with new single ‘Anticipate’ which features Sam Frank, who previously worked with Skream on ‘Where You Should Be’.

‘Anticipate’ is a step towards the current chart market with clunking synth, Sam Frank’s modulated voice and the obligatory drop that sends club dance floors crazy. The UK bass scene has been settling down recently with the arrival of American competitor Skrillex, who’s become more successful than artists like Skream by creating step-by-step manufactured dubstep that sounds filthier than his greasy mop. Skream has succeeded again with ‘Anticipate’, keeping faithful fans happy and likely to be playing at the next club night you go to.
