Sportsday Megaphone – Meet Me In The Middle
3-5 StarsYou will fall in instantly love with the quaintness on offer.
A lot is / was expected from Sportsday Megaphone and once the modem dials up you will probably fall in instantly love with the quaintness on offer from this latest offering. Anyone that can use lyrics about windmills, seesaws and barber shop signs and keep you interested obviously has not only an attractive way with words but a grasp of melody slightly more than palatable, and as electronic as this melody appears do not be fooled, there is plenty of it to go around. Less than three minutes of jaunty Mylo-esque rhythms and jumps and the effervescent vibe climbs up the headphones and crawls into you ready to infect. Much like the burgeoning career of Hugh Frost you get the feeling from ‘Meet Me in the Middle’ that there is still something to come. A bit like eating out above your usual standard, the cuisine was delightful but your stomach is yearning for that little bit more. Whilst there is undoubtedly a missing link here, no big hoorah or avert catchiness there is plenty to keep you coming back and looking.
