Mysteries unveil new video for ‘Authenticity Machine’
New clip provides zero clues as to the band’s identity.

Most-anonymous-group in the game, Mysteries, might boast members of Wild Beasts and TV On the Radio (they’ve dropped the odd clue), but there’s no chance of that being revealed anytime soon. Plenty might accuse the Felte-signed band of having false intentions for wearing masks and keeping cards close to their chest, but on the flipside, this is about as real as it comes. The old ‘music speaks for itself’ cliché rearing its head brilliantly on the group’s criminally unsung debut ‘New Age Music Is Here’.
In a new video, this ‘Authenticity Machine’ that Mysteries are so embroiled in comes into full bloom. Dishing out no clues about the band’s identity, it’s filmed in a documentary style, showing the story of ‘Ian’, who seems to have a big thing about alien life and all its potential.
The only thing ‘Authenticity Machine’ is suggesting, then, is that Mysteries might be from another planet altogether. It wouldn’t be the biggest surprise.
Premiering on DIY, watch the new Mysteries video below. ‘New Age Music Is Here’ is out now on Felte.
