Muse announce new album ‘Drones’, schedule UK tour dates
First track ‘Psycho’ is airing at 6pm, Thursday 12th March.
There’s been plenty of back-and-forth when it comes to rumours of the new album from Muse but now the truth is out there: the band will release ‘Drones’ on 8th June.
Co-produced by Muse and Robert John “Mutt” Lange, the album’s set to be twelve tracks long, and they’ll be offering up the first taste of it tomorrow with ‘Psycho’ landing at 6pm, before they debut new single ‘Dead Inside’ on 23rd March.
Speaking of the record, the band’s Matt Bellamy has said: “To me, ‘Drones’ are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”
The tracklisting of the album is as follows.
1. Dead Inside
2. [Drill Sergeant]
3. Psycho
4. Mercy
5. Reapers
6. The Handler
7. [JFK]
8. Defector
9. Revolt
10. Aftermath
11. The Globalist
12. Drones
The band have also announced a small tour - by their standards at least - which sees them making stops in Belfast, Glasgow and Brighton. It kicks off later this week. Marmozets are confirmed to support. This summer they play Bilbao BBK Live - get tickets here.
