Little Scream gets hot-footed with ‘Dark Dance’
Track is taken from Laurel Sprengelmeyer’s new album, out this spring.

Everything delivered from Little Scream’s new record, ‘Cult Following’, has been in another league. And the form continues with ‘Dark Dance’, a playful standout from Laurel Sprengelmeyer’s new record.
Linking up with ‘Love as a Weapon’ and ‘The Kissing’ (her collaboration with TV On the Radio’s Kyp Malone), ‘Dark Dance’ is a star-gazing wanderer. It plants its feet in wide-open terrain, all hushed vocals and feedback-backed synth notes. Softly-softly is the ethos, but that doesn’t stop Sprengelmeyer from verging into explosive territory.
New album ‘Cult Following’ features lots of big-name guest spots, including Sufjan Stevens, Sharon Van Etten, Owen Pallett and The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner. Despite those oh-my-god-exciting collaborations, the spotlight doesn’t shift from Sprengelmeyer. It’s an ace record and it’s due out via Merge 6th May (US / Canada) and 3rd June (UK).
DIY has the first play of ‘Dark Dance’ - stream below.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
