Fat Possum signing Ellis shares the swirling ‘Something Blue’
She’s also set to play her first UK shows this May.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Ellis.
Ontario-based singer Ellis revealed last month that she’d signed to Fat Possum for a reissue of her 2018 debut EP ‘The Fuzz’.
The reissue comes out on 22nd March, and in advance of the release, she’s shared brand new song ‘Something Blue’.
Not tied to the reissue, the track is her first new work for Fat Possum, and is a swirling, atmospheric slice of indie-rock that swells and crashes through its four minutes.
“I think everyone has a moment that they wish they could time-travel back to and have a do-over,” the singer says of the new track. “This song is about mine. Hindsight can be a real bitch.”
Along with the new single and reissue, Ellis has announced her first ever UK shows, set to take place this May.
