Explosions In The Sky confirm new record
“We’re pretty excited about what we’re coming up with,” say the post-rock pioneers.

After several on-and-off months of self-confessed “hibernation”, post-rock legends Explosions In The Sky have confirmed that they are working on the writing and recording of a new album, set to be their seventh proper studio record.
In a statement posted on their Facebook, the Texan four-piece acknowledged that they’d “been running silent for a while” and cited touring and soundtrack commitments as their main reasons for the lack of new standalone material since 2011’s ‘Take Care, Take Care, Take Care’.
“We’re now in our sixteenth year as a band and we’re grateful every single day that you’re still listening,” they continued, stating that 2015 is due to be another quiet year for the group, as they knuckle down on the follow-up to the aforementioned last record. “We’re pretty excited about what we’re coming up with” was the only clue given as to what to expect. Given their exacting standards to date, it’s fair to say the twelve month wait will probably be worth it.
