Slug announces debut album ‘Ripe’, debuts new ‘Running to Get Past Your Heart’ track
Hear the latest Brewis brothers-backed gem from Ian Black.
Sunderland musician Ian Black has announced details of his debut SLUG album, ‘Ripe’.
Due out 13th April on Memphis Industries, it’s produced by local heroes Peter and David Brewis from Field Music, at their Roker studio. Black has history touring with Field Music, and it was here that he was first encouraged to start his own project.
New track ‘Running to Get Past Your Heart’ heads up the record. Black’s imagination seems capable of heading in any direction at this stage, the latest quick-witted number being the best evidence yet. Chunky bass parts trade blows with breakneck speed, stop-start percussion, Black’s light falsetto the only normal element in an otherwise whacked-out gem.
DIY’s got the first play of ‘Running to Get Past Your Heart’, below. Pre-order the debut album on iTunes.
