Ex’s ready themselves for Hello 2015 show with ‘I Wanna’ track
East London four-piece join Girl Band, Demob Happy and Bruising for an essential show tomorrow night (27th January).
Ex’s offered up an almighty headrush with their ‘Oh, Boy’ debut, a soaring track mixing noir wave and shoegaze in an effortless to-and-fro.
On the back of that track, the East London four-piece were invited to play the last of DIY’s Hello 2015 new music showcases at the capital’s Old Blue Last. Following chaotic sets from Bloody Knees, Oscar and The Magic Gang, tomorrow night (27th January) it’s the turn of Dublin’s Girl Band to top the bill. They’re joined by Ex’s, as well as exciting prospects Demob Happy and Bruising.
With ‘I Wanna’, their second song to date, they bring a controlled sense of frenzy. Fire-starting guitar lines collide, a sense of dissonance matching up with every move. Like crossing Warpaint and Viet Cong in a dazzling witch hunt of happiness, this is a bitter-tasting, beautiful blending of ideas.
It’s streaming first on DIY below.
Entry is first-come, first-served at The Old Blue Last tomorrow night. Bands start at 7.45pm - we’re expecting it to be (very) busy, so get down early.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
