The National have started work on their new album, they confirm.
Sketches and ideas for thirty songs have been put together, claims frontman Matt Berninger. The group’s last album was 2013’s ‘Trouble Will Find Me’.
In an interview with NME, Berninger said: “We did a camp out retreat in New York a couple of months ago, and we’re having another one in LA in a few weeks. We have 30 sketches of songs so far.”
Berninger is currently busy at work with El Vy, a new project formed alongside former Menomena musician Brent Knopf. Their debut album ‘Return to the Moon’ is out this Autumn via 4AD. Listen to ‘Return To The Moon (Political Song For Didi Bloome To Sing, With Crescendo)’ below.
