Fallow Deer end fallow year with the gigantic ‘Holding On’

Brighton remains a goldmine for new bands, and Fallow Deer are the latest case in point. We say latest - they were a bright prospect a couple of years back, but George Smale and co. have since honed their craft into a more refined force, capable of spinning melodic gold out of devilish noise.

Smale leads the way on ‘Holding On’, barking vocals like they might be his last words. In amongst the madness, Fallow Deer find their muse in stomping drums and rage-ravaged grandness, like stepping into the eye of a storm with no second thoughts. Think Yung with sparks coming out of the plug, or The Vaccines with a nasty streak. The track comes mixed by The Magic Gang’s Kristian Smith.
