Neu Pick:
Terrible Love break their silence with ‘Change Nothing’ track
Featuring former members of Funeral For A Friend, Goodtime Boys and more, the group’s first track is premiering on DIY as today’s Neu Pick.
Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Terrible Love.
Rising from the ashes of some of the UK underground’s most treasured, Terrible Love have held their cards close to their chest to date. Former members of Funeral For A Friend, Goodtime Boys, Bastions and Grappler make up the mob behind this cathartic melodic hardcore, but there’s much more to debut track ‘Change Nothing’ than the band members’ various histories.
A blistering emotional assault, there’s a fury to ‘Change Nothing’ that harnesses all the frustration that remaining undercover so long garnered and sets it ablaze. The first track to be taken from a soon-to-be-released debut EP, it sees them keeping the cloak of mystery for the time being, stating that “a certain degree of anonymity at the point is good because the music should stand on its own legs,” and on the evidence of their first work, there’s more than enough here to justify the camera-shyness. Check it out below, first on DIY.
After biding their time, they’re ready to hit the ground running in 2016. Below, we caught up with Jamie from the band to discuss their plans for the year - first up though is a duo of shows in Brighton and London, dates for which are as follows:
FEBRUARY
12 Brighton, The Hope & Ruin (w/ Jungbluth)
13 London, The Unicorn (w/ Jungbluth)
