Keo release new single ‘Pistol’ ahead of debut album ‘Put A Smile On For Me’
London’s youngest guitar heroes follow up their previous single ‘That’s Me’.

An artist undoubtedly on the rise at the minute, Keo release their latest single, ‘Pistol’, ahead of their upcoming debut LP, ‘Put A Smile On For Me’.
Unlike the London quartet’s previous single, ‘That’s Me’, which pried into feelings of guilt and shame, ‘Pistol’ deals with the ashes of these emotions. Through driving, 00s-era alt-rock guitars and soaring chorus melodies, ‘Pistol’ excavates the persistence of people, places and memories that linger on well after they’ve disappeared from sight.
Speaking on the new single, lead vocalist Finn Keogh notes, “I had the imagery of dead stars stuck in my head when writing ‘Pistol’. The idea of something having died years ago but only now seeing its light. I think that imagery can be just as real with people.”
Confessional yet propulsive, ‘Pistol’ encapsulates the wider emotional palette on display through ‘Put A Smile On For Me’, set for release on 25th September via Island Records.
“Put A Smile On For Me’s, honesty is uncomfortable,” Finn says of the album, self-produced by himself and guitarist Jimmy Lanwern so as to resist perfectionism and focus on candor. “I don’t want to see your true colours and you don’t want to see mine. You smile, I’ll smile, everything is fine.” Check out ‘Pistol’ below:
