ATP 2.0 Festival Curated by Drive Like Jehu is cancelled

Organisers of the latest ATP festival - due to be curated by Drive Like Jehu - have confirmed that the festival that was set to take place this month (22nd - 24th April) has been cancelled.

The organisers stated in an announcement on their website that “after working through all options, including moving the event from Prestatyn to Manchester, we have had to accept defeat due to its lack of financial viability.”

ATP has been beset with financial problems. Despite a Stewart Lee curated weekender going ahead as planned this month, John Cale pulled out of playing the event due to the on-going difficulties facing the festival. Back in February, organisers denied rumours that this (now-cancelled) Drive Like Jehu event was cancelled, and added “these events will go ahead as scheduled.”these events will go ahead as scheduled.” They later moved the event from Pontins, to Manchester.

Drive Like Jehu, the band that were set to curate the festival, have left a statement on their Facebook.

“48 hours ago word started to trickle in that Barry (Hogan - ATP Organiser) hadn’t honored his agreement with many of the bands. These bands were not canceling, but rather did not have the promised means to attend. It was only then revealed that ATP was unable to honor the agreement with the ticket holders that purchased accommodation. ATP is out of funds.”
