RIP
The Maccabees have called it a day
Lie down. Try not to cry. Cry a lot.

Here’s some frankly shit news to start the week with - The Maccabees have called it a day.
In a statement (in full below), the band state they are “very proud to be able to go out on our own terms, at our creative peak and off the back of the biggest and best shows we have ever done.” It follows a triumphant headline slot at Latitude 2016, and the release of their exceptional ‘Marks To Prove It’ LP just last year.
It’s not the end of their music-making, with new projects apparently in the pipeline, and a bunch of “farewell celebration shows” planned. But, for now, it’s RIP The Maccabees. What a bummer.
