Could it possibly be… new music from the indie icons?

Ahead of a busy summer of outdoor shows - including London’s Alexandra Palace Park and Leeds’ Kirkstall Abbey - The Maccabees have shared details of all the songs they’ve been rehearsing ahead of their July live run.
But nestled among the bona-fide favourites and crowd pleasers (like ‘Sticks’n’Stones’, the Jamie T cut they played at last year’s triumphant All Points East comeback show) are two mysterious, unfamiliar titles: ‘She’, and ‘Ballad Of So Long’.
Neither name crops up on any of The Maccs’ four albums - ‘Colour It In’ (2007), ‘Wall Of Arms’ (2009), ‘Given To The Wild’ (2012), and ‘Marks To Prove It’ (2015) - which leads us to conclude only one thing… are they brand new tracks? If so, they’d be the beloved indie outfit’s first new releases in over a decade - and crowds at their forthcoming summer shows will be the first to hear them.
